Volkswagen Beetle E-Bugster Might Make Production

The good welcome the Beetle E-Buster concept received at the Detroit Auto Show might produce a series versions too. The designers of the concept claim that it is already in the works.
At the Detroit Auto Show, Volkswagen presented the E-Bugster concept, developed on the current Beetle generation. Nobody thought at that time that we might see a series version inspired by the concept, but the positive reaction of the audience might bring a E-Bugster on the streets in the next few years.
Although Volkswagen has not officially confirmed their intention of producing the prototype, the designers who worked on the concept believe that this project can become a reality.
Mark Lichter, VW designer, said: " What you have in front of you is a series proposal for a Beetle Speedster version and i am sure that it can make production. We just have to find a serious financial motivation for it. Personally, I think a Beetle Speedster would be a ideal car in the United States".
Lichter claims that for creating the E-Bugster concept he found inspiration in the look of his own Porsche 964 911 Speedster. Even the rims were inspired by those found on the Porsche vehicles in 1960. The alloy rims might also be installed on a possible series E-Bugster version.
