BMW Announced that they are to offer full Xdrive traction on the 640D diesel version. The new configuration will offer a sprint from 0 to 100 in 5.2 seconds and a consume of 6,9 liters / 100 km.
If until now 6 Series enjoyed full xDrive traction only on the 650i version, things will change starting with this month. The german model will be equipped with the 4x4 system even if it's moved by the bi-turbo 3.0 liters engine.
So, the 6 Series Cabrio range of models and Coupe will be improved with the 640D xDrive version. In this configuration the 6 Series can go from 0 to 100 in only 5,2 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 250 km/h. Even so, the average fuel consumption is between 6.9 and 7.1 liters, based on the type of rims the vehicle comes with.
The 3.0 liters engine bi-turbo engine does not suffer any modification, the performances being still 313 HP and 630 Nm. Everything is transmitted to both decks by the 8 steps automatic gearbox. The total mass increases in both models. The coupe weighs 1795 kg and the convertible version has a weight of 1870 kg.
