Alfa Romeo 4C: 900 KG's Without Carbon Fiber Body

The next Alfa Romeo 4C will not have a carbon fiber body, but will have a weight of approximately 900 kgs. The model will debut in 2013 and will have a price tag of around 50,000 eur.
The next Alfa Romeo 4C is not going to come with a carbon fiber body, but will have a weight of approximately 900 kg's. The news comes from Mauro Pierallini, the boss of Fiat Engineering, who revealed these details during a Top Gear interview. Precisely, the model will be equipped with a light body, and the frontal and back sides will be made out of aluminum and the floor will be made using carbon fiber. According to the first information, the model will be built in 18,000 units and will have a starting price of 50,000 euro.
The engine of the new 4C will be a 1.8 liters, four cylinders overcharged engine with direct injection. The engine will deliver 235 HP and it will come with a TCT double clutch transmission that will help the vehicle go from 0 to 100 in 4.5 seconds. The maximum speed will be electronically limited to 250 km/h. Although the power level doesn't seem high for a sports car, Alfa Romeo reminds us that the next 4C model will have a power / weight ratio comparable with a Porsche 911 Carrera, and the torque / weight ratio will be better than the Porsche.
The debut of the Alfa Romeo 4C will take place at the end of 2013. The model will also be available on the U.S. market where Alfa Romeo wants to make a good impression with the debut of Giulia, the successor of the 159 model. Also, Alfa Romeo will also release a crossover, shortly after the 4C debut. Alfa Romeo also promised multiple 4C versions, including a version that will deliver almost 300 HP.
